In recent years, vapes have become very popular among youngsters, mainly because of it’s cheap, come in sweet flavours, and attractive packaging. But this popularity has given a new rise to addiction, which cannot be ignored.
The decision represents a turning point in the nation’s policy on tobacco control and youth health. While some praise this decision, others are concerned about the potential harm it can cause and the growth of an illegal market.
Vaping addiction in teens
The main reason behind banning vapes is rising addiction among teenagers. There are many reports coming from U.K. schools that children as young as 11 are regularly using vapes. Teachers are telling that students use vape secretly during the class and bring the device hidden in pencil box or jacket. According to sky news report, some of the children Sleeps keeping the vape under the pillow, Which shows a serious level of addiction.
Fruity and candy flavour vapes like “cotton candy” or “blueberry ice” are made to attract the teenagers. Few of them doesn’t even know that it contains nicotine – one device contains the nicotine as an entire packet of cigarettes. These disposable vapes are small and easy to hide, which makes the problem even worse.

Environmental and fire concerns
Besides than the health issue, desposible vapes are a big danger to our environment. It has lithium-ion battery and plastic casing, Which often end up in landfills or are thrown on the streets. These material are neither bio-degradable nor are they being disposed properly.
According the guardian, fire services warned against stockpiling. As the disposable vapes ban are coming closer. Some of them stocking vapes in a very large amount without having a knowledge that lithium battery can become a reason of serious fire risk. They can even explode if stored incorrectly.
What does the ban include?
Government disposable vapes ban mainly focusses on single-use devices, which cannot be recharged and nor be refilled. This devices are usually inexpensive and mainly used by vaping beginners. This ban will not imply on rechargeable and refillable vapes, but strict regulations will be imposed on them.
This decision is a part of stopping the youngsters from addiction of nicotine and to control the tobacco consumption. Under this, marketing restrictions, age verification, and online sales will be tightened.
My opinion: It is our responsibility to save children
As a citizen and a responsible parent, i beileve that banning vapes in the U.K. is not just necessary, but also the need of the hour. We should keep our kid mainly – teenagers safe from any type of addiction and this vapes are destroying our children future.
It is very shocking that how this device in home and school become a part of children’s life. These colorful, fruity flavoured devices appeal kids towards them, and nicotine into vapes slowly take them to the path of addiction.
I have talked to many parents who are watching their kids dealing with vapes addiction. This is not just a trend – it’s becoming a very serious issue.
We need to send a strong message that children safety are our first priority. If this ban help our kids and help in keeping our environment safe, then it is absolutely a step in the right direction.
Support of parents and teachers
Parents are happy with the decision. They had been demanding for a long time that the government should take strict action to keep children away from these devices. Teachers say vaping has now become as big a disruption in the classroom as mobile phones.
Environmental activists are also happy with this decision, as it will reduce the load of waste and provide an opportunity to recycle important resources like lithium.
